Josh has riverboarded in more than a dozen countries over the past two decades with numerous first riverboarding descents to his credit, including the Green River Narrows in North Carolina and the 15m Hollin Chico Falls in Ecuador.

He has appeared as a riverboarder in publications such as the Wall Street Journal, Canoe & Kayak, and Outside Magazine, among many others.

He has directed numerous riverboarding competitions during his career, and operated as the Water Director for 2 editions of Primal Quest®, the “world’s most challenging human endurance race”, including PQ Montana which featured an epic riverboarding section on the Gallatin River.

He also produced the riverboarding events and worked as broadcast talent for the final Gorge Games event in 2008.

He is passionate about the sport and his efforts both online and traveling to meet riverboarders around the world over the past 10 years have helped to bring the international riverboarding community together and paved the way for this first ever major international riverboarding competition to become reality – the 2013 Riverboarding World Championship, which was followed by the 2015 RWC in Guatemala.

He is a part of the organizational committee responsible for the first international riverboarding guide certification through the IRF, and is determined to show the world that riverboarders are whitewater athletes and that riverboarding is a legitimate whitewater sport. He also served 2 years as the President of the World Riverboarding Association, and continues to sit on the board of directors.

In 2014 Josh was named to the list of Gear Junkie / Wigwam 110 Outdoor Ambassadors of the past 110 years.
