| INNOVATION |
|
Airboards were invented in Switzerland. Inventor Joe Steiner borrowed directional control concepts from snowboarding and riding style from ocean bodyboarding when he began development of the Airboard Classic in 1990.
Grounded for two years after a snowboard accident, Joe yearned to "sled" the same Swiss alpine slopes he used to snowboard. After ten years of experimentation, Joe introduced the world's first snow bodyboard and redefined sledding.

| AIRBOARD FREERIDE 180 |
|
|
| The Freeride is a larger board more suited for powder and huge aerial tricks in deep snow. It's a bit wider and rounder up front, as well as being thicker. If the 130 is the Porsche in the Airboard garage, this is your Hummer H2. |

| HOW DO THEY WORK? |
|
|
| Unlike tubes or toboggans, Airboards can actually carve turns! By shifting your weight and pushing against the side handles, you can even come to a complete sliding stop quickly. The molded runners on the bottom (see below for detail view) curve, which assists in turning the board. You don't have to turn it, once you learn how to shift your bodyweight and "drive" it, the board turns itself. And the faster you go, the better control it has! |
