Ligher side of boarding PDF Print E-mail

Here are some short, but funny videos of the not so intense or serious side of boarding.  The first clip  is of my greatest accomplishment in riverboarding ever, and I say that ever so lightly hehe.  This was part of us screwing around while we were stranded by the side of the Upper Klamath and facing a long, cold night due to our shuttle driver being lost (why do these crazy off-river events always happen when Ice, Docta-P, and I get together).  Hopefully one day, one of us will tell the full Klamath story in words or video, but until then, enjoy.

The next one is of my brother-in-law, Brian, and his brother Chad jumping off of "jump rock" on the New River.  Something in my gut told me this wasn't a good idea, but when two adults want to do something stupid, you can either say something or get out the camera.  Seriously, I thought they would do a belly buster or something.  I didn't think Chad would get a concussion.  This just goes to show that you should be careful when jumping into flat water with your board from a decent height. Getting Chad down the rest of the rapids with a concussion was interesting to say the least.  I wish I would have filmed all of his incoherent-ness.  His short term memory was shot to pieces.  Seriously, he couldn't remember who two other people were that we had been boarding with all weekend or that he jumped off a tall rock.  Thankfully, he has been on the river a lot in a kayak, so the lines for all the rapids were in his long term memory.  Good times, but be careful on high stuff, and make sure that the waterfall you're looking over has enough water to aerate the landing and soften things up.
