July 23rd, 2008 - CORRECTION - We were totally wrong in what was reported originally (below)...actually, RMR won the Eddy Flower Vertical Challenge, by racking up over 12,000 feet of vertical!

We totally screwed up and missed them, as they were registered under the weekend warriors category (oh the irony, yes, we know)...great job to RMR though and we've fixed the standings including this correction as well as the Gorge Games results...

RMR, guys, we owe you a big apology, so here it is: SORRY! We screwed up. It's fixed now though and you'll be getting a great prize pack including a board of your choice (um...does this mean we have to buy an RMR from you to give to you? haha), Gath helmet, fins, a whole bunch of goodies.

Again, RMR won the EFVC and Liz placed second, with the Thundercats coming in 3rd.

July 13th, 2008 - There's been a major shakeup in the 2008 Face Level Riverboarding Championship standings . Heading into Gorge Games next week, Team FLI Athlete Alex Koutzoukis is out in front with Ice nipping at his heels, and Docta P, River Dave, and Liz Arnold close behind.

The 4 members of Team NIKE are tied for 3rd after picking up 30 points for the fastest team time in the epic Primal Quest riverboarding section (they won the overall race as well, becoming 5 time PQ Champions), although they may not compete in any other riverboarding events this season.

The rest of the top 5 will be competing at the Gorge Games with the exception of Ice, who is running the event and doing the TV commentary.

Says Ice, "I'm excited to see these athletes square off head to head on a river that several of them are very familiar with, especially Peter and Liz - it should be a great competition, especially watching boarder after boarder plunge over the falls."

Liz is indeed familiar with the White Salmon, having racked up quite a few of her 7,140 vertical feet on that river. That was more than double the vertical of the next individual riverboarder!

Liz's efforts in the Eddy Flower Vertical Challenge were enough to score her team a top-3 finish in the kayaking overall standings, and she blew away the rest of the riverboarding field.

Familiarity with the river will help, but at the levels it's been running at, riverboarders are going to be challenged to punch through holes and run the falls clean, no matter how many times they've done it!

Check out this great Gorge Games Riverboarding video on youtube to get a taste of the Gorge Games course and see where Liz racked up a few of her EFVC winning vertical feet.
