Team Nike won Primal Quest Montana in around 5 days and 11 hours (548 miles). The team looked tired but pretty good considering how much they had just gone through. They are truly machines. 5x Primal Quest champions...Jordanesque. The best athletes on the planet, bar none. There are "ball-sport" athletes, the Kobe Bryants and Randy Mosses of the world. Then there are "athletes". These people are the best athletes in the world.

I didn't even have to ask team captain Mike Kloser about the whitewater - he just immediately started talking about how awesome it was, and how it's something that adventure racing needs, more whitewater like that, and especially riverboarding.

That was great to hear. He also said something to the effect of 'you shouldn't try to cater to everybody because not everyone can do it but that's ok, the sport needs whitewater like that'...

I talked with Chris Forne afterward as well, since he was the guy that looked like he was having the most fun during the riverboarding section. He said he had done a lot of boogie boarding and surfing in the past (he's from New Zealand) but never any riverboarding, but that he really enjoyed it and had fun.

Congrats to all three FaceLevel sponsored teams, Nike (1st), Merrill (2nd) and Dart-nuun (4th) of the 58 entrants. The effort you guys (and gals) put forth was just insane. Look forward to seeing you on the water again soon.
