Years Riverboarding: 7

Favorite River: The Witte River in Bainskloof Pass, close to the little town of Wellington in South Africa. It is a difficult and steep Creek with very few pools and lots of action.

Other Face Level Sports: Bodyboarding and Bodysurfing, both of which I’ve done for more than 20 years.

  • I distinctly remember being 5 years old and for the first time encountering the ocean. I loved it and have been hooked on water ever since.
  • Watching a talk by Leo Buscaglia, entitled “Only you can make the difference” at the age of 14. It changed me forever.
