Name: Josh Galt
Nickname: The Athlete Known As ~Ice~, Ice, or just yell “free donuts!”
Age: is an attitude.
Primary face level sport(s): Riverboarding, Snow Bodyboarding, Ocean Bodyboarding, and taking the steps needed to leap from a cliff and fly...
Years doing your sport: 14 for Riverboarding; started sliding headfirst on snow when I was about 2, with breaks here and there during those times my geographic region had some religious umbrage against snow

Favorite (River / Ski Resort / Ocean break / Jump spot): Fav river is still the Lochsa, although the US National Whitewater Center has won my heart as well; fav ski resort is Mt. Bachelor, but since they don’t offer Airboarding (boo Mt. Bachelor! boo!) I’ll go with a tie between Canaan Valley and Hoodoo; fav ocean break is Mission Beach, San Diego…man I miss living under the bridge down there…and my fav jump spot is yet to be determined.
Other sponsors besides Face Level: all the Team FLI powered by: sponsors, and more to come. Oh, list them, right: Gath, SixSixOne, Numa Sport Optics, nuun Active Hydration, GoPro Cameras, Force 6 PFD's...

Industry Related Athletic Accomplishments
- spot "Live To Tell About It" award recipient at Primal Quest® 2008, for rescuing 2 racers and a civilian off an island in the middle of the Gallatin river (riverboard contact rescues)
- Stunt double for whitewater kayaking carnage for Rush HD (Primal Quest®); also paddled cameraman downriver during the race with lead teams Nike and Merrell / Zanfel Adventure
- River Director, Primal Quest® (2008)
- Sports Director, Riverboarding events - Gorge Games (2008)
- Named by RIPH in 2007 as an “International Hydrospeed Instructor”; first American to be named such, and only the 15 th person in the history of the organization to be awarded the honor
- Numerous “First Descents” on a Riverboard the past 3 years, especially in the Northwest US region; however, I believe that the first descent thing should be a side-note to the story, not the headline. I’d rather have something be amazing because it’s amazing, not just because it’s a “first descent”. People get too carried away with that. I’m after “best descents”, and to make them as artistic and mind-blowing as possible for all who see the proof.
- Have Riverboarded in North America (including most US States where there is whitewater), Central America, Europe (Mainland), Europe (Scandinavia), & New Zealand; plans for 2008 include Nepal in November and possibly other international destinations
- Helped set up two new Riverboarding guide companies in 2007, one in Oregon and one in Norway
- Part of the swiftwater safety team for Primal Quest® 2006 along with Docta P
- Hired as an “extreme athlete – Riverboarder” for an exercise equipment infomercial, bringing the sport to thousands who had never seen or heard of it before (2006)
- Hired by a major Hollywood production company (anonymous content) as an expert consultant on Riverboarding prior to filming the short film on Riverboarding (2006)
- Starred in the short film on Riverboarding along with my brother Peter, aka Team FLI's “Docta P”, as well as legend Bob Carlson and Kiwi guide Gary Pera (2006)
- As a working fashion model, have also gotten exposure for face level sports products by getting riverboards and gear into outdoor catalogs, photoshoots, and videos as props
