Here's how to get sponsored as an extreme "face level sports" athlete...
The most definite way to get on the team is to win the overall 2008 Riverboarding boardercross championship - that's an automatic guaranteed spot for 2009 (among many other cool perks and prizes).
We are always on the lookout for exciting young athletes who are pushing the boundaries of their sport(s) and have a passion for life and all that they do! The perfect mix is a person who excels in their chosen sport(s), would like nothing more than to eat, sleep, and breathe their sport(s), and also is someone who is marketable.
You don't have to be a salesperson yourself, although it helps. We just have to be able to sell you. That could mean you're an introvert that everyone hates because you've got mad skills and don't talk to anyone, or that could mean that you're the extravert who everyone loves because you're an amazing talent and you make them feel amazing as well.
Whatever your style, we just don't want boring, average, run-of-the-mill people. There are plenty of riverboarders and airboarders who are good in the water and on the slopes but as people they're about as exciting as reruns of "Leave It To Beaver". And I'm sure even the Gen-Y peeps know how exciting that is.
If you've got an incredible talent in the water or on the snow, we want to hear from you. If you're regularly hucking off 7m / 20ft waterfalls or doing flips on your airboard, we want to hear from you. And if you're doing all that AND you think you're more interesting than the current guys on the team, show me what you've got. If we agree, we'll work something out.
Ladies, we'd love to hear from you as well! We know there are some interesting girls out there who can swim/slide/shred/fly? circles around the dudes, so send us an email and let's talk...
Thanks, good luck, and even if we're not a good fit for each other, keep having fun and challenging yourself and the limits in your sport(s)!
